I've got the "BLUES"

I'm not sure if I caught the BLUES from Kylee after she had the baby, but I caught them non the less. We've been in the market for a new living room sofa. I had looked and looked for something that caught my eye but it just wasn't happening. I finally decided to bring several swatches of fabric home to see what might work that way. Well, there were a few BLUE swatches in the batch and for some reason I was always drawn to them. I decided to hit the streets again and this time look for something BLUE. I wasn't having much success but decided at the last minute to go to Macy's, 'just in case'. And what do you know, there it was, and on clearance too!

George went and picked up a couple days later. He called and said, "wow, it's really BLUE, are you sure about this?"I said I was, but inside I was thinking, 'oh no, what have I done?' Because it was on clearance, once it left the store, it was ours. Well he got it home, and once again I saw the vision. That night I made the red pillows and the next day I hurried to the city to round up some accessories to bring it together. I'm happy with the living room transformation. I've decided my BLUE couch is going to be a lot of fun. I can change the accent color easily, and as I was shopping I noticed a lot of different color choices out there, but for the time being it's RED.

On Saturday, Kandi, Diane and I went for a "girls day away." We had appointments for pedicures first thing. I sat in the chair totally planning on having my toes painted with your basic french style. But something got in to me and said, "I'll do BLUE." I'm still not too sure what I was thinking, but they won't last forever and then I'll go back to the basic. I guess I've just got the BLUES!

Just Hoppin Down the Bunny Trail...

While Easter weekend is always fun it seems like it is always COLD and RAINY, or at least it is nine out of ten years. This year was one of the nine. I guess it didn't really matter to us Morgan's given the fact that we don't have the luxury of a camp trailer or 4-wheelers like all the other family members. I guess the good thing about that is that we don't have to worry about the
weather. We just stay indoors and keep warm and dry.

I didn't feel too bad about it this year because little Nixon came to town to celebrate his first Easter. We didn't want to take him out camping anyway so it gave us an excuse to stay home and enjoy some family time here. We did however go out and visit for awhile. We ate lunch and the kids had fun looking for eggs and riding the 4-wheelers.

It feels like I spent a lot of time in the kitchen this weekend and I can actually say that I enjoyed it. It's been awhile. George and I have gotten really good at eating out because it seems to be the easiest thing to do when there is only the two of us.

Among other things, I made one of our family favorites, Chicken Avacado Egg Rolls, from CPK (California Pizza Kitchen).

We ate until we were stuffed and then colored our Easter eggs. Tanner was had the monopoly on the blue die. I bet he colored nine eggs, all of them which he cracked, and all blue! Luke was more deliberate with his and created some pretty good master pieces. After that we had the kids running through the house trying to find their Easter baskets hidden throughout the house. The Easter Bunny left the kids an oversized blow-up castle to jump in. Kaydee and Launey are thrilled! Not! But the kids are, and that's all that counts!

On Sunday, we went to Pooper and Papa's and had our annual Easter Egg Hunt. It's one of the highlights of Easter! The eggs are full of MONEY! Papa usually has a twist to go along with it. Sometimes the one with the least amount of money wins a bonus, sometimes the one with the most, you just never know. This year there were 3 white eggs and the ones holding them got a $5 bonus! Who knew a plain boring white egg would be such a PRIZE!

It was a great weekend! I love having the kids around and spending time together, and I'm grateful for traditions we've created over the years. I hope they carry on for many many more.

CREATE

While Kylee and Nixon were sleeping, Conner working, and me blogging, I ran across this video. I loved it and wanted to share and so I called Kaydee to find out how to put it on my blog. Come to think about it, I just created!

Gr-Nanny

My week with Kylee, Conner and Nixon, is quickly coming to an end. She has agreed to let me go home on Saturday. Conner's mom, Micci, will step in to take my place. She is here visiting from Seattle and will be staying until the next Saturday. I know she is so excited to get to spend a few days with them too.
I've had a great time being here and helping them out with Nixon. Having a baby is such an adjustment, but over time things just seem to fall into place.
Kylee and Conner's sleeping habits have been a bit crazy in the past. They have always enjoyed staying up really late but then making up for it by sleeping in really late. Apparently little Nixon is used to that because that's just what he wants to do too. He's a little sleepy head during the day and ready to play once the lights go out. Luckily he hasn't been onery, just AWAKE.
Kylee tells me that we can't spoil him and so he's slept in my arms the past three nights. I guess if he ends up spoiled, they'll have to deal with it after I'm gone. I just figure that's a good way to get him to sleep and to make sure mommy and daddy are getting good and rested for what lies ahead.
I have to say that I've really enjoyed being a stay-at-home grandma this week. I'm going to have a hard time going back to work. Luckily next week is a short one, that way I'll be able to work myself back into my real life slowly.
We've had a few visitors come by, which has been fun. Kaydee and Launey brought the kids up on Monday. They were cute with him and Ellie was dying to get her hands on him. Yesterday Shayda had a meeting in Logan so Kristy came up with her. It was great to have them all here to oooh and aaah over him.
